Overheard: Cheating Couple Breaking It Off In Sea Of Thieves

So, this is awkward. One moment a player in Sea of Thieves is harmlessly hiding in the crows nest of an enemy ship – and the next he’s overhearing an uncomfortable but amicable breakup between two adulterous pirates calling off their steamy, smelly love affair.

Honestly, listening to people break up over Xbox Live is my new favorite hobby, although I’ve only done it once. For those that can’t make out what the couple is saying, here’s the part that matters:

Her: “I don’t want to cause you any pain..”

Him: “Well I can tell you this, my love.. uhh.. I already know.. that.. we aren’t going to work out right?”

Then the video cuts out. The original poster of this video, INeverPlayedF-Zero explained the situation on reddit:

“Okay, so, when I got on, I heard this part of the conversation;

Which suggests it wasn’t just roleplay, & that she has kids, & a husband.

The dude also mentioned how he’d had another woman who he was with, who didn’t want to leave her husband for him.

After about five minutes of listening in, I just couldn’t take it, I broke out laughing, & asked what the fuck was going on. The dude went silent, the girl laughed awkwardly. They both climbed up the ladder as I pleaded for my life, & just saying I needed more info. I was instantly killed via Blunderbuss. I sent the woman a message & had this conversation;”

I’m super salty that the full five minutes of eavesdropping wasn’t uploaded, mostly because I have no life and I love drama, but this is a great start.
